Zooni M'uppet Mittens
POST:2008-10-23 13:30:45
It is officially getting cold here in NYC. Cold enough that last weekend I dug through our storage closet looking for the "winter box"secretly hoping that my kids hadn't outgrown their hats, mittens, snow pants, boots, and coats from last year. But, alas my six-year-old has officially outgrown most of her winter wardrobe. So, it is online shopping I go.....while my younger daughter squeals with delight about inheriting her older sister's garb (seriously!). I am so hoping that this hand-me-down excitement lasts until she is 18.Have you seen these cute mittens from Zooni? They aren't for my 6-year old daughter (still working on that), but I am hoping these mittens will solve all of my mitten problems with my 2-year-old son. My son is amazing at shedding his clothing- especially anything with pairs. Shoes, socks and mittens. Last year we lost several of the aforementioned. One minute the shoe/mitten/sock would be securely on his body, and the next minute it would be gone, somewhere on the streets of Manhattan. Amazing he is- at times more impressive than Copperfield. This year I was out to find some mittens that could not perform a disappearing act. I needed mittens with that connecting string- like I had as a child-to save the mitten from being thrown to the wind when my son decides he wants to see his fingers. It would also help if his mittens were totally adorable- so adorable that I could distract/entertain him with them on long subway rides. Possibly so adorable that he just might ask to have them on. The mittens would definitely have to be animal kingdom-inspired for this to happen.Hooray for Zooni, for making my mitten dreams come true!:) These mittens have the much-needed connecting string, they come in monkey, puppy, and lion styles. To top it off, they double as hand-puppets. Thanks to the generous amount of space in the thumb piece, these mittens can talk. I am loving these. Each pair of these mittens is hand-knit cotton lined with fleece. In addition to cute mittens, Zooni also makes hats with a lot of character. Kate's Moss is my favorite:The Zooni M'uppet mittens are brand new. They aren't even on the Zooni website yet (but should be in the next few days). You can find them at Giggle here in NYC for $20 a pair. They retail at whatshebuys.com for 19.50 + free shipping. The M'uppet Mittens are available in size 1 (18 mos-3T) and size 2 (3T-5T).Who wants some Zooni of their very own? One lucky Citrus reader will win a pair of Zooni M'uppet Mittens!
